Peacock’s dark comedy series, Laid, boasts a stellar ensemble cast, featuring Stephanie Hsu as Ruby, the central character whose past romantic relationships become a matter of life and death. Zosia Mamet plays AJ, Ruby’s best friend and a true crime enthusiast who notices the unsettling trend of Ruby’s exes dying.
Tommy Martinez joins the cast as Isaac, a client of Ruby’s event planning business who becomes entangled in the ensuing chaos and sparks a connection with Ruby. Michael Angarano portrays Richie, one of Ruby’s former flames who re-enters her life as she grapples with the mysterious deaths.
The series is further enriched by a notable lineup of guest stars, including Finneas O’Connell, Simu Liu, Brandon Perea, and Alexandra Shipp, who portray significant figures in Ruby’s past relationships. Mamoudou Athie plays Robert, another of Ruby’s exes, while Olivia Holt portrays Merci, Isaac’s girlfriend.
John Early makes a cameo appearance as himself, while Elizabeth Bowen plays Debra, Ruby’s therapist. Brandon Perea takes on the role of Simon, and Chloe Fineman portrays Chelsea, Richie’s ex-girlfriend. Alexandra Shipp plays Aubrey, another of Ruby’s former girlfriends. Uli Latukefu portrays Lug, and Kate Berlant plays Janelle, a corporate executive with a hidden mystical side. Alex Rockhill rounds out the cast as the Guacamole Man.
Adding a unique touch to the series, Amanda Knox makes a brief cameo appearance as herself, fulfilling AJ’s true crime obsession.
