Skylight TV offers a diverse range of shows designed to engage children of all ages and interests.

Body Parts, a lively interactive game show, teaches children about anatomy through a fun matching game format. Both in-studio and call-in participants have the chance to win prizes while learning about the human body. The show is hosted by talented local personalities who bring energy and enthusiasm to each episode.

Hospital & Safety Bingo, adapted from a Johns Hopkins Medical Center program, educates children about hospital objects and safety procedures with a playful and humorous approach. Hosted by Lurie Children’s own Matt Massaro, this bingo-style game show allows patients to participate from their rooms or in the studio for a chance to win prizes.

Storytime with Dot, hosted by the talented Dot Kane, combines storytelling and comedy in an engaging interactive experience. Using improv and green screen technology, Dot brings stories to life in imaginative ways, captivating young viewers and encouraging participation through call-ins and in-studio audiences. Prizes are awarded to participants.

Morning Jam with Jim, a weekly musical sing-along, features hospital Chaplain Jim Manzardo and special musical guests. Children are encouraged to sing along, make requests, and even announce birthdays. This heartwarming show recognizes the healing power of music and provides a positive and uplifting experience for patients and their families.

Bubble Bay, a collaborative trivia game show developed with Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium, challenges participants to fill aquariums on their game sheets to win prizes. Hosted by School Service Coordinators Pat Ebervein and Scott Zagalak, this colorful and educational show engages children with fun facts about marine life.

Skylight TV also broadcasts special events featuring community partners, arts and cultural organizations, educational institutions, and professional sports teams, further enriching the viewing experience for young patients.

Through live Georama tours, Skylight TV transports patients to exciting destinations worldwide, from Vienna’s Christkindlmarkt to the Adler Planetarium’s Solar Eclipse Fest. These virtual excursions provide a welcome escape from the hospital environment and broaden children’s horizons.

By actively involving patients in the production of its shows, Skylight TV fosters a sense of ownership and belonging. This unique children’s hospital television programming reduces isolation, provides a healthy distraction from illness, and promotes a positive and engaging hospital experience.
