1923 Yellowstone Prequel Filming in San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio, Texas is hosting the filming of “1923,” the prequel to the hit Paramount+ series “Yellowstone.” Broadway, a major San Antonio street, will have several closures between Pecan and Houston Streets, including East Travis Street and Peacock Alley, from Jefferson to North Alamo Street. These closures are scheduled for the week of September 16th to accommodate filming, but may be adjusted due to weather. Detailed closure information is available on the San Antonio Film Commission website.
The production is also casting extras through Legacy Casting. Aspiring extras should create a profile on Legacy Casting’s website or email [email protected].
“1923” needs skilled foxtrot dancers, a popular ballroom dance of the early 20th century. Male foxtrot dancers are especially encouraged to apply. Interested dancers should submit a current photo, name, age, and city of residence to both [email protected] and [email protected].
Access to the Broadway set during filming will be restricted to approved cast and crew, with security on-site. For security reasons, the production hasn’t disclosed which celebrities, if any, will be present.
While most area businesses should remain open, some may temporarily close on September 19, 2024. The film commission has stated that affected businesses have already been notified.
The “1923” television series is a highly anticipated addition to the “Yellowstone” universe. Filming in historic San Antonio provides an authentic backdrop for this historical drama.
