Can You Pair One Remote to Two Televisions?

by

While it would be convenient to control multiple TVs with a single remote, Samsung TVs and remotes aren’t designed for this functionality. You can’t directly pair one remote to two televisions. However, you can control each TV individually with its corresponding remote by following a few steps. This might involve using multiple remotes if you have multiple TVs.

First, reset each remote by removing the batteries and holding the power button for at least 10 seconds. This clears any existing pairings and ensures a clean start. Next, plug in only one TV at a time, or if that’s not feasible, try covering the sensors of the other TVs to prevent accidental pairing. With the single TV powered on, point the Smart Remote directly at its sensor, typically located on the lower right or bottom center of the Samsung TV.

Press and hold both the Return and Play/Pause buttons on the remote simultaneously for approximately three seconds. This initiates the pairing process between the remote and the TV. A confirmation message will display on the screen once the connection is established, indicating successful pairing. Repeat this process for each TV and its respective remote. If you don’t have a Smart Remote, this method might not be effective.

While this method allows individual control, it doesn’t guarantee one remote can operate two TVs simultaneously. There isn’t a built-in Samsung feature to achieve that specific functionality. This workaround relies on pairing each remote to a single TV and minimizing interference between remotes and television sensors.
