The Director of Major and Planned Giving will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

  • Leading and expanding TPT’s major individual giving programs, concentrating on gifts of $25,000 or more. This involves identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals and foundations.
  • Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors, with the goal of securing over $1 million annually in cash contributions, pledges, and planned gifts. Strong relationship management skills are crucial for success in this area.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with TPT’s overarching vision and strategic objectives. This includes creating innovative approaches to donor engagement.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to a talented fundraising team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages innovation and professional growth within Twin Cities Public Television Inc.
  • Collaborating with various departments within TPT, ensuring alignment between donor engagement activities and the organization’s content creation, community impact initiatives, and long-term strategic goals.

Qualifications and Compensation

The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of success in fundraising leadership, capital campaigns, and major gift cultivation. A deep passion for public media and a strong understanding of philanthropic giving are essential.

  • Experience: Extensive experience in major gift fundraising, preferably within the public media or non-profit sector. Demonstrated success in securing significant philanthropic contributions.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Strong leadership and management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Proven strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Compensation: $125,000 – $140,000 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Environment and Application

TPT offers a hybrid work environment, with three days onsite and two days remote. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
