The Masters Tournament, known for its limited television coverage, will expand its broadcast schedule in 2025. Augusta National Golf Club and CBS Sports announced the addition of five hours of coverage, marking a significant shift for the traditionally exclusive event.

While the Masters maintains a prestigious image, accessing the tournament has become increasingly convenient. Despite its limited nine-hour weekend broadcast on CBS, significantly less than typical PGA Tour events, comprehensive coverage is available throughout the week via the Masters’ free digital and mobile applications. This widespread accessibility may explain the muted criticism regarding the limited traditional broadcast window.

However, in 2025, viewers will enjoy expanded coverage. The agreement between Augusta National and CBS includes an extra hour of weekend coverage on Saturdays, extending the broadcast from 2 PM to 7 PM ET, matching Sunday’s schedule. This increases the total televised hours on CBS to 10. Additionally, Paramount Plus will stream two extra hours of coverage before CBS’s broadcast on both Saturday and Sunday.

This expansion represents the most extensive television schedule in the Masters’ history, a notable evolution for the once-reclusive club. Just thirty years ago, the tournament’s famed front nine remained unseen on television. Today, viewers expect comprehensive coverage across various platforms and days, with minimal commercial interruptions.

The growth of Augusta National’s entertainment offerings extends beyond television. The Masters App sets the industry standard for sports entertainment, and the recent release of the Masters VR App for Apple Vision Pro further demonstrates the club’s commitment to innovative viewing experiences.

These changes signify a broader trend: the Masters is actively striving to connect with a wider audience. From expanded television hours to cutting-edge digital platforms, the tournament is making itself more accessible than ever before. The 2025 Masters promises an unprecedented viewing experience for golf fans worldwide. Now, the anticipation builds for the tournament’s arrival in six months.
