The Golden Bachelorette Episode 1 Television Schedule

by

ABC has announced its fall 2024 television schedule, revealing that “The Golden Bachelorette” will premiere on Wednesdays at 8 PM EDT/PDT. This highly anticipated spinoff of the popular “Bachelor” franchise features a senior woman looking for love, following the success of “The Golden Bachelor” last year. “The Golden Bachelorette” will air before “Abbott Elementary,” which is moving to a new 9:30 PM time slot, followed by the new docuseries “Scamanda” at 10 PM.

While “The Golden Bachelor” resulted in a marriage between Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, the couple unfortunately announced their divorce in April. Despite this, ABC is continuing with the “Golden” franchise, hoping for a longer-lasting love story for the new bachelorette. The network is pairing “The Golden Bachelorette” with “Scamanda,” a true-crime docuseries based on a popular podcast, to create a powerful Wednesday night lineup.

Wednesdays will also see the return of the Emmy-winning comedy “Abbott Elementary,” now airing at 9:30 PM EDT/PDT. This shift allows for a full hour dedicated to the “Golden Bachelorette” and its potential for drama and romance. The network clearly hopes to capitalize on the audience drawn to the “Bachelor” franchise and lead them into the critically acclaimed sitcom.

Other notable programming on ABC’s fall schedule includes the new medical procedural “Doctor Odyssey,” starring Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson, airing Thursdays at 9 PM EDT/PDT following “9-1-1.” Tuesdays will feature “Dancing With the Stars” at 8 PM EDT/PDT, followed by the new series “High Potential” at 10 PM EDT/PDT. Long-running favorites like “Grey’s Anatomy” (now on Thursdays at 10 PM EDT/PDT), “Shark Tank,” and “20/20” will also return to the fall lineup. Several shows, including “American Idol,” “The Bachelor,” and “Celebrity Jeopardy!,” will premiere midseason.
